Kelly-Freeman Wedding
An event of widespread interest was the wedding last, evening in Washington of Mary Gray Freeman, daughter of Lt. Col. And Mrs. Monroe E. Freeman, to John Brenden Kelly, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Kelly, of this city, which was solemnized at 7:30 O’clock in the Walter Reed Memorial Chapel, Walter Reed Army Hospital. The Rev. John A. Cartin officiated.
The Bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white Taffeta and lace, fashioned with short sleeves and a wide neckline outlined with scalloped lace. Her finger-tip-length veil of illusion was arranged with a crown headdress of lace and she carried a small bouquet of white Hyacinths.
Metta Elizabeth Streit, of Washington, had the role of maid of honor and the bridesmaids were Martha Biddle Elder, Elizabeth Ann Quackenbush, of Washington, and Elizabeth Ann Kelly and Grace Kelly, sisters of the bridge-groom.
Mr. John B. Kelly was best man for his son and the ushers were George Davis, Jr., Jesse Otley, Jr., Joseph Regan, Ensign Joseph Flanigan, Al Lawn and Fred Selby, all from this city.
Upon their return from a cruise to South American, the couple will make their home in this city.
