Death of Fred Woeckener

Fred Woeckener, a former upholsterer, who lived with his family on South Ninth street, until last autumn and then moved to Dayton, died at noon Saturday at his home in that city, of paralysis, aged 59, years and 3 months.  He is survived by the widow and several children.  The remains were brought to Hamilton at 1 O’Clock Monday for the Funeral, which will take place at the Chapel of Funeral Directors Bonner and Cahill at 2 O’clock. Tuesday afternoon, Rex William Volbrocht officiating.  Interment, Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Sophia Wockner Wiechelt, age 80 Widow of [Fred Woeckener 1st Husband] 421 Lockwood, avenue, died at 2:30 o’clock Monday morning in Mercy Hospital, Complications resulting from a fractured hip suffered in a fall three weeks ago caused her death.

She was born in Newport, Ky., on October 23, 1859.  He Husband, [Christian Wiechelt, died in 1937.  Second Husband]

A life-Long member of the St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, she had been a regular attendant at its services. And belonged to its Ladies Aid society.

She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Berdine Anderson, of Hamilton, one grandchild, one great grand child;  three sisters, Mrs. Lisetta Hilgenman.  Mrs. Christine Flickinger and Mrs. Catherine Schlauldroff, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.,  and one brother, Henry Uhlenhake, also Fort Wayne.

Funeral Services Will beheld Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 O’clock in the Griesmer-Grim Funeral home, 422 North Second Street, and at 2 o’clock in the St Paul’s Evangelical church, with Rev William Vollbrecht pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood.  Friends may call after Tuesday noon.

Obituary—Lesitta Frederick Woeckener Thursday February 27, 1913 Butler County Democrat Pg 5;
 Mrs. Robert Schiering.  The sad news of the death of Mrs. Lizetta Woeckener Schiering, wife of Robert Williams Schiering, “at San Antonio Texas, Sunday night reached relatives and friends in this city today.

Mrs. Schiering had been in failing health for some time and seeking benefit, she and her husband left here in December for Hot Springs, Ark., whence they went to San Antonio.

A member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Church, Mrs. Schiering was a true woman.  Her death brings to the hearts of many sad regrets, and deep sympathy is extended to the widower, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Woeckener of this city and a sister, Mrs. A. Anderson, of Dayton.

The remains of Mrs. Schiering will arrive here on Wednesday and be removed to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Woeckener, 925 South Ninth Street, where the funeral will take place privately on Thursday afternoon at 2 O’clock and at 2:30 at St. Paul’s Church.  Interment: Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Alma Bernadine Woeckener Anderson, 69, 936 Marion Ave., Cincinnati, a former resident of Hamilton, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Good Samaritan Hospital, Cincinnati, where she had been a patient the last three weeks.  Mrs. Anderson had been in failing health for sometime.



She was born in Cincinnati, Aug 23, 1890.  A daughter of Fred and Sophia Uhlandhake Woeckener.  She received her education in the Hamilton Public Schools.



For a number of years, the deceased resided in Hamilton where she was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ and had been active in church affairs.  She resided at 421 Lockwood Ave. Before to Cincinnati  10 years ago.
