Ray R. Robinson 84, a resident of 608 H. Avenue, Anacortes, died April
14, 1972, at home:
He was born in Coldwater,
[Comanche], Kansas, USA, June 26, 1887. The
family moved to Anacortes when Ray was six months old. He continued to make his home here attending
Anacortes Schools.
In 1916 he
built the Salina Cannery [later known as the Sebastian-Stewart Cannery], and
established the first floating Cannery in Alaska, utilizing the sailing Ship to
Azalea.
Robinson is
well known on the Anacortes water front. He started the Robinson Marina which
he operated until his retirement in 1947.
Robinson
was married to Edith Whitmore, . August 12, 1912.
Survivors
besides his wife at the family home, include two sons, Raymond R. JR. , and
Ralph R. both of Anacortes; one brother, Donald, of Anacortes; two sisters,
Edna Drake of Portland, Oregon, and Harriett Lancaster of Watsonville,
California. He also leaves
grandchildren.
Memorial
Services were held Tuesday, April 18, at Evans Funeral Chapel REV J. Robert
Evans Officiating. Interment followed at
Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements were
under direction of Evans Funeral Chapel.

Edythe Robinson, 91,
of Anacortes died Thursday, Jan10, 1985, at Island Hospital.
She was born May 1,
1893 Bellingham, Whatcom, Washington, USA. She attended school in Bellingham,
Whatcom, Washington, USA and Seattle, King, Washington, USA
She moved to
Anacortes in 1909. She, married Ray R. Robinson on August 12, 1912 at Friday
Harbor. He died in 1972.
She was a charter
member and regent of D.A.R., past worthy matron of Order of Eastern Star 89,
Charter member of Soroptimists, past royal matron of Amaranth, and member of Westminster
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include:
two sons, Ralph and Raymond Robinson both of Anacortes; a sister, Doris Sprague
of Cathedral City Calif; six grandchildren.
Services were held
Tuesday, Jan15, 1985 at Evans and Engdahl Funeral Chapel Order of Eastern Star
89 conducted ritualistic services. Private interment followed
