Man Collapses on Bus,
Dies
Victim Formerly Headed Shoe
Firm
Robert McNeil Lane 71, former
president of the R.H. Lane Shoe Co., collapsed on a Community Traction Co. bus
last night and was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital.
Mr. Lane, who lived at 814
Brighton Ave., was employed by the Sheridan Manufacturing Co., at the time of
his death.
The wholesale shoe firm went
out of business in the early thirties.
Mr. Lane was a lifelong Toledo
resident, a graduate of the University of Michigan, and was a 32nd
degree Mason.
Surviving are his wife, Bess:
daughter, Mrs. Margaret Hiett, Toledo; sons, Robert F., Williamstown, W. Va.,
and Fred H., Beach Haven, N.J.; sister
Mrs. Cornelia L. Anderson, Marion, Va., and five grandchildren.
Services will be conducted,
Tuesday at 2p.m. in the Murphy-Roach Mortuary, Colling-Wood Memorial, by the
Rev. Arthur Hargate, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will be
private.
