Frank Bartlett Thayer
descendant of John Alden, and for a number of years confidential secretary of
Wellington, Sears & Co., died at his home, 1056 Beacon Street, yesterday
morning after a few days illness.
His first business connection was in his
father’s organization, Thayer, Babson, & Co., wholesale dealers in
druggists’ glassware. At the time of the
great Boston fire the concern was one of a number which was blown up by the
firemen in their efforts to confine the conflagration. He was also at the one times assistant
secretary to former Mayor Thomas N. Hart.
His wife, Mrs. Frances [Bowker] Thayer died
several months ago. He is survived by a
daughter, Miss Harriet Thayer.
