de Smet people were painful Sunday afternoon they learned about the death of Mr. CP Ingalls, who died at 3 pm. and this day after dealing with the disease for several weeks. The heart of the code was the cause of his death.
Funeral services were held in the Congregational Church Tuesday morning, largely attended bt the number of dead friends and family. After the church service were to conclude that the Masonic fraternity who took part in the body at the funeral and remains were placed in their final resting place with a solemn funeral ritual that organization.
Chas. P. Ingalls was born in the country 60 years ago. His life was a pioneer since boyhood. At the age of 12 he moved with his parents to Illinois, from there a few years later to Wisconsin, and from there to Minnesota. While living in Wisconsin that respectable married lady who is now his widow.
In 1879 he brought his family to de Smet. It was the first to build a dwelling in this location, the house that now stands on the back of De Smet series is building. His home was held the first religious service. It was a significant contribution to the work of organizing the Congregational Church of this city that he was faithful and Member at his death, in accordance
as a citizen he greatly appreciate honest and upright, their contact and association with his colleagues. As a friend and neighbor was always kind and helpful and trustworthy and loving husband and father.

Mrs CP Ingalls, pioneer region, dies at 84
Kingsbury County lost one of its pioneer women in the death of Mrs CP Ingalls at her home here Sunday. She and her husband came to this site in 1879 and lived in a cottage right on the northshore Silver Lake before there was a De Smet.
Death was unexpected and followed illnedd but for a short time, perhaps [sic] Mrs. Ingalls was sickly all winter.
Caroline Quiner was born December 12, 1839, Milwaukee, Wis. And died at five o'clock pm Easter Sunday, April 20, 1924, aged eighty-fourth
She was married to Charles Ingalls from Milwaukee Feb 1, 1860, which was Death 8 júna 1,902th
Five children were born to this union. Mary Ingalls de Smet, Laura Wilder Mansfield, Mo, Caroline Swanzey Keystone, SD, Frederick Ingalls, who died in infancy, and Grace Dow de Smet.
The family moved to de Smet in 1879 if they have since lived. In 1880 Mr. and Mrs. Ingalls helped organize the Congregational Church de Smet and were faithful members of the organization at the end of their lives. Mrs. Ingalls was also an early member of the Eastern Star Chapters de Smet.
Furthermore, the four daughters of the deceased is survived by three sisters and one granddaughter, Rose Wilder Lane.
Mrs. Ingalls was a good mother, a good neighbor and a good friend. In the last few years has not worked to get around to people very or attend church, but her interest was her neighbors, friends, and church. It was an honor to go and visit her as she was always interested bright and happy.

Lady Amelia Ingalls- Biography
Mary Amelia Ingalls was the first child of Charles and Caroline Ingalls and was born January 10, 1865 in Pepin, Wisconsin. Mary was a character in all the little house books and Mary and Laura were an integral part.
When Mary fourteen years, became seriously ill. The disease, which is described as a variety of scarlet fever (in the book) and meningitis, resulting in a stroke that caused Mary to go blind. Laura became the Virgin Mary "eyes", describes everything around them his sister.
In 1881, Dakota Territory pay for Mary to attend the Iowa School for the blind in Vinton, Iowa (know known as the Iowa Braille and sight saving school). She graduated in 1889 and returned to De Smet, South Dakota to live with their parents.
Like most blind women at the time, Mary never married and lived with his parents until their death. Mary then lived with dignity and her husband. The keystone South Dakota, Mary died on October 17, 1928 at home her younger sister Carrie.
Some of Our Lady of beadwork as well as its special Braille slate and the Bible are located at Mansfield Museum Whilst many of her other possessions are placed on de Smet.

Laura Ingalls Wilder Elizabeth - Biography
Laura Ingalls Elizabeth was the second child of Charles and Caroline Ingalls and was born February 7, 1867 in Pepin, Wisconsin. She traveled with her family and later with her husband, and that her father loved traveling and I always wanted to go West.
In de Smet, South Dakota where she met and issued Almanzo James Wilder. When Laura was twelve miles Education School when she was only sixteen, and Almanzo came to her back and forth every weekend for Morgan horses Laura loved so much - Prince and Lady.
After courting for two and a half years, were married on August 25, 1885, with the bride wearing black. They spent four years trying to agriculture, which is documented in the first four years, ending fire that destroyed a home Almanzo "manly" worked hard to build.
In de Smet, Dec. 5, 1886 Rose was born. By August, 1889, Laura had a baby boy who died shortly after.
The Wilder then spent several years living with various family members while Almanzo got his strength back from his bout of diptheria, which resulted in his partial paralysis. In 1890, Laura, Almanzo and increased Almanzo lived with his parents in Spring Valley, Minnesota.
Between 1891 and 1892, then moved to three Westville, Florida hoping the warmer climate would help Almanzo legs. Laura persecuted, I live there so many, they returned to de Smet. Until July 1894, three then left for Laura and Almanzo final home, Mansfield, Missouri where he bought a farm Rocky ridge with a hidden $ 100 bill. Laura is a diary of the trip is published on the way home.
After publishing many articles locally, Laura began working on her memoirs, a manuscript called Pioneer Girl. The concept of this book, which was basically the whole series in one driver to start a small home series, which was published in Harper and Brothers (now known as HarperCollins) children's department.
Laura died February 10, 1957 at her home in Rocky ridge, the last member of the pioneering Ingalls family.
Many museums and historic sites have been set up in the hometowns where Laura spent her life and many items are placed on each page.

Sympathy for Carrie Ingalls Swanzey
Keystone. June 5 - Funeral services for Mrs. Caroline Ingalls Swanzey will be held at the Keystone Congregational Church on Thursday 2 hrs. , Summer time. In order Eastern Star will keep law and Rev. Carl Loocke will help. Burial will be in de Smet.
Ms. Swanzey came with his parents to the Dakota Territory and settled in De Smet. She worked for several small newspapers in the country before the arrival of 35 years ago as an employee of the paper and later married David N. Swanzey. He died in 1938.
She was active in church and community affairs, and recently received a 50-year life membership in the Eastern Star. Survivors include a sister, Laura Ingalls Wilder Mansfield, MO and Rose Wilder Lane, and niece, so well known authors, and stepdaughter, Mary.
She died Sunday in Rapid City hospital. Burial was made Behrens funeral home to Rapid City.

Mourning Grace Ingalls Dow
Mrs. Nate Dow killed in her home in Manchester at 11:00 Monday night after dealing with the disease.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at home and Manchester Presbyterian Church, rev. D. Van Houte celebrant.
Ms. Dow had attended school in De Smet and Redfield College and had taught at Manchester Town
was active in the Ladies Aid and club work and was a local writer. Pallbearers were Lucian Howard, Howard Rowen, JL Towberman, Harvey Marx, EC Brinkley, and Alfred Anderson.
Left to her sadness crossing the husband Nate Dow, two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Swanzey Keystone and Mrs. Laura Wilder Mansfield, MO and niece, Rose Wilder Lane.
