Isn't it great how people are still fascinated by the Ingalls family after all these years? Laura's books have something in them that speaks to all of us on some level. I read all of her books several times over as a child. I'm also a 7th cousin of hers (I forget how many times removed), as we both descend from Edmund Ingalls of Ipswich, Massachusetts, who immigrated there from England in the 1600's.

I know there are two amazing Women who where pioneers. Caddie Woodlawn who AKA Caddie Woodhouse she was 1853-1940 and Laura Elizabeth Bess Ingalls Wilder. 1867-1957

I will be posting Caddie Woodlawn who in fact really was Caddie Woodhouse. Her grand daughter wrote about her grand mother. I was just in contact with Her great grandniece. Her great grand father was Baby Joe in the Book. She lack a lot of Genealogy on the family.

Check out my Barnhill Work. I have been friends with this family for eight years and I found the family bible on line and purchased it from a woman and I had fun with it.

What I found out that REV Oliver Paul Barnhill married Enrico Caruso to Dorothy Park Benjamin. I surprised the family and the County Where he was born in Oldham County Kentucky.

I am planning a trip for next summer to Antrim County Ireland to further my work on the Barnhill Family.

My family does have Irish they came from Cork County. However, I love working other people's genealogy.

Since I have started my blog I have been getting fan mail.

Also I have Almanzo's death Record. However, Missouri has there records on line:

http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/bdrecords.asp

Go to this site and you will his record, Almanzo James Wilder Manchester County MO 1949

Yes Caddie Woodlawn [Woodhouse] And Laura Elizabeth Bess Ingalls Wilder are amazing women.

I say their fathers had a lot to do with the way they were. They didn't want the daughters to be fragile

Caddie Woodlawn
By Carol Ryrie Brink- Grand-daughter to Caddie Woodhouse

1. Caddie Woodlawn age 11 years old born in Boston year 1864 pg 1 [Born in Boston] She was close to her brothers, Tom, and Warren. Her father watched them with pride.

All three of them had red-hair. [Tom and Caddie—wide eyed and red headed three adventures]
Alias: Full name Carolina August Woodlawn pg 14

Notes: pg 15 Caddie’s father had to say. She loved to hear him say it in his deep, quiet voice. He would be telling how frail she and little Mary had been when they came to Wisconsin from Boston, and how, after little Mary had died, he had begged his wife to let him try an experiment with Caddie.

He said to Harriet he had said I want you to let Caddie Run wild with boys. Don’t keep her in the house learning to be a lady. I would rather see her learn to plow than male samplers, if she can get her healthy by doing so. I believe it is worth trying. Bring the others girls up as you like, but let me have Caddie.

For seven years Caddie ran wild.

Caddie had seen the President of the United States when she had visited St. Louis PG 25 President Abraham Lincoln

Also Caddie was older and she was born in Boston Massachusetts

If you want I will down load my files to you.

My E-mail is
jeannettekathleenrook@gmail.com

I will be placing my notes on Caddie this coming weekend along with the family genealogy.

Also Laura was a very beautiful woman.

Genealogy is so important when examining information we learn the little things. For example Carrie Ingalls Swanzy Husband David named MT Rushmore. Who would have know that little information. Until a person such as ourselves read and put genealogy together.

PS I am a genealogy nut and proud of it.
