DAVIS, Alice Jean "Peg" (nee Anderson) - Beloved wife of the late Jack Davis. Loving mother of Jackie (Bill) Schroeder and Donna (Mike) Campbell. Dearest grandmother of Laural (Steve Taylor, Bradley (Lorry) Schroeder, Michael and Joseph Campbell. Loving great grandmother of Landen Taylor and Emily Taylor. Peg was born April 7, 1926 in Fayette County, Indiana. She spent much of her childhood in Indiana with her Uncle Fred and Aunt Bertha. Later, she relocated to Lockland to be closer to her brother Jim, whom she loved dearly. She graduated from Lockland High School in 1944. On December 20, 1945 she married John "Jack" Davis. Together they had two beautiful daughters, Jackie and Donna and spent 52 happy years together until his death in 1997. Peg and Jack set roots in the Meadows of Mason (then considered a small town) in 1953 and remained in Mason until their deaths. Peg was well known as a cashier at Barr's Grocery, the only grocery in town for many years. She was also employed at Baysore's Flower Shop, until she retired to enjoy time with her 4 grandchildren and later, 3 great-grandchildren. She was an avid Red's fan, enjoying the games, even in her last days. She spent the remaining years of her life at Deerfield Commons playing gin rummy with friends and volunteering at the dining hall. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly! Passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at age 87. Family will receive friends at Shorten & Ryan Funeral Home, 400 Reading Rd., Mason, Ohio 45040 on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Alice Jean Anderson [Nee Davis] was the Daughter of Harold Dunn Anderson and Margaret Alice Ireton.

Harold Dunn Anderson was the Son of Irwin McLain Anderson Sr. and Minnie Gertrude Dunn [Stevens].  Harold was the 1/2 Brother of Sherwood Anderson.

The past three years I have been working on the Anderson family.  Along the way I have the pleasure of meeting Peggy.  She was a wonderful woman.  I amsad that she has passed away.
