SOFT PRETZEL



THE SOFT PRETZEL
Mixing bowl
with dough hook

1 PKG YEAST

1 CUP HOT WATER 105 DEGREES

Let Stand for 5 minutes until foamy.

1 Tablespoon sugar

1 Teaspoon salt in mixing bowl

Pour Hot water in Mixing bowl

3 1/2 Cups Flour

Slowly pour flour in mixing Bowl. Let knead in bowl for 5 minutes.

Place in large bowl lightly grease and cover with plastic. Let rise takes 45 minutes.

I learned a neat trick in the Army. To proof the dough, turn your oven to 200 degrees place an up side down and place the steel bowl with the dough and let rise. also rotate the bowl three times.

Punch the dough down.

Let rest for 10 minutes. Cut the dough in 8 strips and form into pretzel and let sit for 20 minutes.

Pre heat oven 425

Next step I use a roasting pan and fill with hot water and Tablespoon of Salt. Let boil. When the Pretzel have double in size place pretzels in boiling water for three minutes and drain and dip in egg wash.

Place on cookie sheet with Parchment paper and bake in oven for 20 Minutes.

Cinnamon and Sugar optional

Love making them and they don't last. This makes eight pretzels.
