Mrs. Elizabeth Wood, widow of James T. Wood, died Thursday morning 5 O’clock at the home of her son, Frank Wood, near Cropper, from infirmities of age. She was in her seventy—fourth year and is survived by four sons and two daughters. The funeral was conducted Friday morning at 10 O’clock.

WOOD, farmer, was born in Shelby County August 6, 1839, a son of William and Sarah (Miller) Wood. The father was born in Virginia, and is the son of Richard. Subject's mother was born in Kentucky, a daughter of Barton Miller. James T. Wood received a common-school education, and has devoted all his time to farming, also raising mules and horses. He married February 14, 1871, Lizzie Davis, of Shelby County, daughter of William and Betsey Davis. Six children bless this union, five of whom are living: Ranson D., Mattie L., James H., Frank T. and Ethel L. Mr. Wood has 135 acres of land. Wood Miller Davis=VA

Obituary--Harry B. Wood, 71, was stricken with a heart attack at about 4:15 p.m. last Thursday while sitting on a bench in front of the Shelby County Court House. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the King's Daughters Hospital. A Farmer, Mr. Wood was a native of Elmburg and a son of the late James T and Elizabeth Davis Wood. He was a member of the Elmburg Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Taylor, Beaumont, Calif., and Mrs. Leonard Whitaker of Shelbyville; seven sons, Gilbert and Charles Wood, Louisville; Orvin Wood, Beaumont, Calif., and Gayle, Steve, and Helburn Wood, all of Shelby County and William Wood of Hutchinson, Kansas. Funeral services were held at Shannon Funeral Home, with burial in Pleasureville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Monte G. and Danny W. Wood, and Charles, Helburn, L. C. and James Whitaker, all grandsons.

Bright's disease: Chronic inflammation of the blood vessels in the kidney with protein, specifically albumin, in the urine. There are a number of disorders that lead to Bright's disease. With nothing more sophisticated than a candle and a silver spoon, the English physician Richard Bright (1789-1858) discovered protein in urine and in 1827 published his pioneering study of kidney disease.

Cerebral Hemorrhage- flow of blood from a ruptured blood vessels

Coronary Occlusion- The partial or complete obstruction of blood flow in a coronary artery, as by a thrombus or the progressive buildup of atherosclerotic plaque. Blockage of a coronary vessel, usually by thrombosis or atheroma and often leading to myocardial infarction.

Emphysema-A pathological condition of the lungs marked by an abnormal increase in the size of the air spaces, resulting in labored breathing and an increased susceptibility to infection. It can be caused by irreversible expansion of the alveoli or by the destruction of alveolar walls.
