FOX NEWS CHANNEL 17

On March 6, 2003 Sgt Russell Wayne Rook, was deployed to Iraq the begining and Return to Iraq. He served both President George H.W. Bush 41 and George W. Bush 43.

Since then My Husband has also served two more tours to Iraq. They were back to back tours

During the First tour my husband was in accident and he lost a friend. Sgt David Nutt. On May 14, 2003. I was watching the OReilly Factor [http://www.foxnews.com/oreilly/] [E-mail oreilly@foxnews.com] when the news cames in about a Soldier that was killed in Mosuel Iraq. I knew in my heart my husband was involved. A couple of a days later I get a phone call from the FGR Leader Leane Gladden and she told me what happened. I put two and two together. That Special Nutt was killed and my husband was involved with the accident. I was up set with Captain Romeo Wright the Company Commander of the 494th Transportation. We had heated exchanges.

I told him I was not a Stepford Wife http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stepford_Wives

Four months later my husband suffered another close lose. He lost his brother to cancer.

The hardest part I never met his wife Heide Nutt. It was the hardest moment, this happened to me twice. When My son was attending Kindergarten his friend was killed in a bus accident that we had witness. So for the past ten years I have been dealing with my son and my husband. The little boy name was Tyler Powers. I met with Tylers parents and I met with Mrs Nut. Both of them suffered night mares I had to have dealt with.

Staten Island Advance (NY) - May 30, 2003
Deceased Name: Army Spc. David T. Nutt, 32

For Heidi Nutt, there was no doubt about David Nutt.

"I knew it from the moment I met him," she said. The two were married seven months after meeting at Fort Campbell, where he was in the Army and she worked in child services. "He was just a proud, wonderful man," she said. "A strong soldier who never complained." Nutt, 32, of Blackshear, Ga., was driving a five-ton truck in Iraq May 14 when he swerved to avoid an automobile driven by an Iraqi civilian. The truck overturned and Nutt was killed. Nutt joined the Army in 1995, and met Heidi the following year. He is also survived by their 4-year-old daugther, Emily.

Heidi Nutt last spoke with her husband on May 12, the day after Mother's Day. She says she remembers every word. "He wanted to wish me a happy anniversary and he couldn't wait to come home to see us," she said. Page: A29Copyright, 2003, Staten Island Advance. All Rights Reserved.
